Chapter 11 (Pastoral Peoples on the Global Stage)
While reading Chapter 11, I found it interesting when it read, "despite their many difference, pastoral societies shared several important features that distingushed them from settled agricultural communities and civilizations." I found this quote to be interesting because they didn't keep things to themselves they shared their ideas and agricultural which brought people together. Another quote that caught my attention was, "Furthermore, pastoral peoples generally offered women a higher status, fewer restrictions, and greater role in public life than their counterparts in agricultural civilizations." This caught my attention because this helped women grow and be able to have their own roles. If you truly think about it, women have came so far than what women had in the past. Lastly, "within the Mongol Empire itself, close relationships developed between the counts of Persia and China" was interesting because relationships happened outside there own and this started connections.
