Chapter 2 (First Civilizations)

While reading Chapter 2, I found it interesting when it said "The earliest of these civilizations emerged around 3500 B.C.E to 3000 B.C.E in three places." I found this quote interesting because this civilization evolved in three places and I would assume that each civilization in the three places had a different way of living. Another thing that caught my eye was when it said, "The early civilizations of China, dating perhaps 2200 B.C.E, was very different from that of the Indus valley." This quote was interesting because it backed up my other theory on the last quote about the civilizations in different place doing a completely different lifestyle. Just like in today's society people all around the world live completely different lives and have different whys of living. Lastly, "Recent discoveries suggest that the Olmec may well have created the first written language in the Americans by about 900 B.C.E" caught my attention because I had now idea had writing come about. If you truly think about it when you go to school for the first time they teach you to read and write and as you grow older you knew really know where this idea of writing came from and how it changed all of society in a good way.
